DID YOU MISS ME? Before you read
another word - make sure to open today's issue all
the way as there are lots of goodies to see! Next, I
wished to express my
apologies for being
absent so long. As you may know, on Valentine's
Day I
birthed a really BIG baby named . . . THE
ALTERNATIVE SHOPPING MALL: San Francisco Style!
(TM)Simply stated, the labor leading to its birth
set aside
other activities for awhile and I simply needed a
(smile) “Maternity Leave!”
Response to THE MALL has been
overwhelming! Just
5 weeks old, it has fielded over 85,000 hits from
smart Alternative Shoppers nationwide (as
well as 26
other countries)! I'm excited to report that THE
MALL is effectively bringing shoppers and shops
together,
private entrepreneurs are gaining a new-found
visibility and folks nation-wide are enjoying hanging
out in THE HOTLINKS CAFÉ where they can
find
national sale and discount shopping links.
GOLDEN HANGER MEMBERS - extra goodies are
coming your way soon! In April, you will receive
your own Membership Cards and lists
of discounts and gifts being offered just for
members
by SMART SHOPS and KIOSK
owners!
In fact, I would like to encourage EVERYBODY
(no
matter where you live) to explore the KIOSKS
as
many of them sell products and services online. You'll
even discover that SMART SHOPS
(highlighted in
yellow) and some other stores have their own
websites, so folks from New York can purchase
gorgeous items at fabulous prices from San Francisco
Bay Area shops.
In February I also had the great honor of being one
of the 22 sponsors of the Marin, CA Chambers of
Commerce: Women in Business Conference (with
my
own booth). Our CLOSET COACH’S PRIVATE
LABEL (sm) silk and Pashmina shawls in all colors
of the
rainbow drew many of the over 225 businesswomen
in attendance to our “Bedouin Bazaar” where they
came to visit, shop and learn more about
Alternative
Shopping (and my great big “baby”).
It has been exciting to birth a new concept!
If

from you. It may take a village to raise a child, but

MALL may need the help of MANY villages

When I first moved to California in 1991, I spent my
first 7 years living right in San Francisco. Of course,
one of my first orders of business was to discover
the Alternative Shops that would become my
regular “haunts.” Being San Francisco, there were
plenty of options (I’ve already posted 48 stores on
THE ALTERNATIVE SHOPPING
MALL). With this amazing variety of shops
from which to choose, I still remember the day I first
wended my way down colorful Polk Street to discover
what would become a frequent stop when seeking
higher end clothes . . . CRIS. What at first
appeared a pricey boutique was indeed, a
Consignment Shop extraordinaire.
